All around the world people are dying every day. Some people are fatally wounded by others, some get old to the point their body can’t live any longer and others die from tragic accidents. Even though all of these scenarios are true, there is one that was left out. One of the ways someone can die is by a having a disease that can be fatal. There are many out there in today’s society that can take the life of the person it is inhabiting. As a matter of fact, one of the most deadly diseases is AIDS. Furthermore, there are areas in the world where there is a lot of people that have HIV. With this many people with HIV, there are many people dying of AIDS. However, the St. Camillus Dala Kiye wants to improve the quality of life for those who suffer from AIDS and HIV.
Firstly, the people from St. Camillus Dala Kiye will make the medical and psychosocial treatment better for the OVCLWA. The Orphans and Vulnerable Children Living With Aids (OVCLWA) need assistance if they want to live a better life. Secondly, the St. Camillus Dala Kiye project will provide a package of social services as well as life skills to 20 OVCLWA. To realize the first objective St. Camillus Dala Kiye will have medical referrals and treatments for the kids with AID. In addition, with the help of guidance and counseling of health education the first objective can be met. In the light of the second, St. Camillus Dala Kiye will provide clothing, school payments as well as life skills training.
Together with both of these objectives the project has a couple of outcome they want to realize. First off, they want 100% of all OVCLWA to have increased access to health care services. Secondly, 100% of the kids will have improved psychosocial status. Thirdly, around 80% of all the orphans with AIDS to have improved health. Last but not least, they want the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Living With AIDS to have a quality education.
The project staff will have regular meetings at the end of each quarter to ensure everything is going well. These meetings will have staff members, children and even caregivers to monitor the progress. All results will be measured by looking at the outcome indicators. The actual numbers will be compared to the numbers that they want to have. If everything goes well the lives of the kids will change for the better.
